Sharon Willingham earned a bachelor’s at Texas Tech. Her career started in her family's ladies apparel store in 1969 when she was a senior in high school. She worked there for 27 years before going in to teaching special ed students, which she did for 10 years. In 2005 she took over the reins of the family ranch Willingham Land & Cattle Co. Inc. which they have had since the 1880's. During this role she has kept the corporation debt free and in the black, guided the development of hunting and grazing leases, as well as oil, gas, and pipeline interests. Ms. Willingham is also mentoring the next generation for the time the torch will need to be passed. Willingham Land & Cattle Co. Inc. has been recognized from Austin Texas Legislator as Family Ranch for over 100 years.
